Along with bust width, it helps determine the forward contour of the upper torso. A correct measurement of the <strong>front bust height<\/strong> is essential for shaping darts and adapting patterns to different body types.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-justify\">The difference between the back bust and the <strong>front bust height<\/strong> defines what we call <strong>vertical bust development<\/strong>. While this difference is typically just 1 cm in the male body, it can vary significantly in women, depending on the bust volume and shape. This gives an accurate idea of how much shaping is needed in the pattern to accommodate the bust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-justify\">When measuring a woman\u2019s <strong>front bust height<\/strong>, you should record three values:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"text-justify\"><strong>Bust drop<\/strong> (the vertical position of the apex point of the bust)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"text-justify\"><strong>Bust depth<\/strong> (the start of the lower curvature of the bust\u201d o \u201cunder-bust line)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"text-justify\">Front waist length<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-justify\">These measurements help position the bust dart accurately.
