I was part of this story\u2014until I became aware of the deception. Without knowing it, I may have contributed to the illusion. For this reason, I ask for forgiveness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-justify\">Nevertheless, my conscience is clear. The moment I understood how the Academy of Ignorance operated, I left it. Then, I spoke up to help others see the truth.<\/p>\n\n\n<style>.wp-block-kadence-spacer.kt-block-spacer-258_7abc77-9f .kt-block-spacer{height:60px;}.wp-block-kadence-spacer.kt-block-spacer-258_7abc77-9f .kt-divider{border-top-width:1px;height:1px;border-top-color:#eee;width:80%;border-top-style:solid;}<\/style>\n<div class=\"wp-block-kadence-spacer aligncenter kt-block-spacer-258_7abc77-9f\"><div class=\"kt-block-spacer kt-block-spacer-halign-center\"><hr class=\"kt-divider\"\/><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading text-justify\" style=\"font-size:16px\">Why I decided to speak out<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-justify\">I feel morally obligated to share the events that follow. In fact, I know this blog is reaching readers in Spain, across Latin America, and even in non-Spanish-speaking countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-justify\">For two main reasons, I won\u2019t mention the real name of the school. First, this is not an isolated case. I can only describe what I\u2019ve seen personally, although I\u2019ve heard similar stories. Second, I want students in fashion schools to ask themselves:<br>\u201cDoes my school work like the Academy of Ignorance? Am I learning anything real\u2014or just illusions?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<style>.wp-block-kadence-spacer.kt-block-spacer-258_c9e327-4a .kt-block-spacer{height:30px;}.wp-block-kadence-spacer.kt-block-spacer-258_c9e327-4a .kt-divider{border-top-width:1px;height:1px;border-top-color:#eee;width:80%;border-top-style:solid;}<\/style>\n<div class=\"wp-block-kadence-spacer aligncenter kt-block-spacer-258_c9e327-4a\"><div class=\"kt-block-spacer kt-block-spacer-halign-center\"><hr class=\"kt-divider\"\/><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading text-justify\" style=\"font-size:16px\">Twenty years of misleading students<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-justify\">For over two decades, the Academy of Ignorance has operated in a district of a European city still proud of its fashion history. However, it has allowed the country\u2019s most iconic fashion show to fade away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-justify\">During this time, the school has taught methods that are known to be wrong and useless. Surprisingly, the sole teacher and director is proud of this. Unlike the priest in San Manuel bueno y m\u00e1rtir<sup data-fn=\"560af44f-90f5-4b11-9b6d-59ebc3e6e745\" class=\"fn\"><a id=\"560af44f-90f5-4b11-9b6d-59ebc3e6e745-link\" href=\"#560af44f-90f5-4b11-9b6d-59ebc3e6e745\">2<\/a><\/sup>, who fakes faith to comfort others, this teacher knowingly fills students&#8217; minds with false knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n<style>.wp-block-kadence-spacer.kt-block-spacer-258_12f07f-29 .kt-block-spacer{height:60px;}.wp-block-kadence-spacer.kt-block-spacer-258_12f07f-29 .kt-divider{border-top-width:1px;height:1px;border-top-color:#eee;width:80%;border-top-style:solid;}<\/style>\n<div class=\"wp-block-kadence-spacer aligncenter kt-block-spacer-258_12f07f-29\"><div class=\"kt-block-spacer kt-block-spacer-halign-center\"><hr class=\"kt-divider\"\/><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading text-justify\" style=\"font-size:16px\">How the deception works<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-justify\">He found a way to live by teaching things that seem useful but are not.<br>First, he prohibits sewing at the school. <em>\u201cToo risky,\u201d<\/em> he told me once. <em>\u201cIf someone complains, it could damage our reputation.\u201d<\/em><br>Second, he displays a handwritten sign on a small decorative chair. It says:<br><em>\u201cThe school is not responsible for garments sewn outside the Academy.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-justify\">Finally, he has students create half-finished garments for their final exams. They must present them in decorated boxes\u2014often giving more importance to the box than to the contents.<\/p>\n\n\n<style>.wp-block-kadence-spacer.kt-block-spacer-258_cdb801-ec .kt-block-spacer{height:30px;}.wp-block-kadence-spacer.kt-block-spacer-258_cdb801-ec .kt-divider{border-top-width:1px;height:1px;border-top-color:#eee;width:80%;border-top-style:solid;}<\/style>\n<div class=\"wp-block-kadence-spacer aligncenter kt-block-spacer-258_cdb801-ec\"><div class=\"kt-block-spacer kt-block-spacer-halign-center\"><hr class=\"kt-divider\"\/><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading text-justify\" style=\"font-size:16px\">A well-crafted illusion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-justify\">To show that his \u201cmethod\u201d works, he hangs old garments he made himself on mannequins. He claims they were part of his personal collections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-justify\">Is this fair? Maybe some students attend these schools just to pass the time. However, many go there with hopes of building a real future in fashion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-justify\">When I once pointed out that something wasn\u2019t working, the teacher responded:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"text-justify\"><em>\u201cYes, you\u2019re right\u2014but it doesn\u2019t matter.
